I mean, I knew what the title was, so I had an idea that this was supposed to be about capitalism, but the movie itself was so disjointed and non-specific that I really couldn't figure out exactly what he was pinning down as the actual problem. Moore's filmmaking format is the same in every movie: "Blah blah blah is bad, and to prove it, I'm going to show you these poor people for the next 83 minutes." In his latest work, he doesn't even do the first part, he just goes straight into showing you the poor people. The movie could have been about 9/11, health care, school shootings, or GM, it wouldn't have mattered. Basically, I couldn't figure out exactly what point Moore was trying to make. Should we abandon capitalism completely? Just regulate it more? What? Anyway, I don't consider myself a full-on conservative. I actually call myself a "Liberaltarian." But even though I agree with Moore on a number of things, I have to say Capitalism: A Love Story is just a bad movie from a film-making standpoint. It's Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed for the far left.
