That's all ready happening. I'm not seeing what relevance the question has.

So, here is an honest question.
Is religion the cause of these problems, or is it simply human nature?
If religion never existed, wouldn't we simply find similarly stupid to kill and maim over?

Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction.

Eh, I have nothing against religion or atheism. I will note that atheism doesn't suddenly cure insanity or complete stupidity. Many of the Christians mentioned are so extreme in their beliefs that they can be considered mentally imbalanced. Extreme forms of Islam seems to be much the same, and many more religious nuts seem to be suffering what appears to be mass brainwashing and an extremely black and white viewpoint.

However, I don't think all of us dropping religion will suddenly cure these problems. There's still going to be people doing horribly cruel things regardless, and overall I don't consider religion in of itself a bad thing, as long as you're able to be flexible, sensitive, and able to keep a calm, rational, open mind. What people twist religion and personal beliefs into is sick at times, but then why not call for an end to organized religion? Why bother with ALL concepts of God? And why become an atheist if you're already endowed with attributes that allow to live up to what is morally right, while still being able to perceive other viewpoints?

Oh sure, religious nuts do all that bad stuff... but then, sometimes they get together and create inspiring music videos.

Now if you'll excuse me, I must go and eat my children....

Being from Minnesota, the decision made by Lutheran's about allowing gays as pastors did get talk for about a week. Personally I have not run into a single person that think's that was a bad idea. It is still embarrassing that there are still some major ass holes that honestly justify human rights violations.

Seriously, how is the way gays are treated any different then interracial couples in the 50's.. or women.. or minority's.. there is no debate here! You can't call your self a just and great society when you prevent rights to ANY group of people..
